Why did we build it? What customer use cases are we trying to solve?
We're continuing to bolster the use cases our custom fields can solve for. Many communities track URL-type data in custom fields (eg: a link to a Salesforce profile for an org), so a while back, our team built URL custom fields for the Hubspot/Salesforce integrations. We neglected to give communities the ability to self-serve and create their own URL custom fields... until now!
How does it work? Where is it in the product?
Settings > Fields, there is now a URL custom field type. These act just like string/text fields, except validate that you always enter a URL, and then our UI will hyperlink the URL.
